Windsong Cottage
Windsong Cottage itself is an historical farm house built in the 1920’s now tastefully updated into self-catering accommodation, while still retaining many original features. Windsong has space and character and is ideal for families and groups.
Built in the 1920’s by The Babers
With 4 bedrooms and 4 bathrooms, Windsong Cottage can sleep up to 11 guests. Large groups can overflow to nearby Kingfisher Cottage that sleeps another 4. Windsong has a lounge with fireplace.
As a historic house, it has some indioscyncracies, one of which is 2 kitchens, one primarily for storage and the other with a smeg gas oven and hob and a larger washing-up sink. Windsong has a lovely large stoep and sofas and large outdoor dining table, perfect for relaxing and entertaining.
From the stoep, steps lead down to the large sunken braai area which is home to many braai’s (BBQ’s) and good times. For chillier nights guests can retire to the dining/living room, which has an open fireplace.
Windsong Cottage has a fenced back garden and is pet friendly.
One of Windsong’s special features is the garden, and there is a table for 12 on the lawn and another table for twelve on the verandah. The open space that can accomodate 24 with ease lends itself to happy gatherings.
There are four bedrooms, two with en-suite bathrooms and two with three beds in each that share a bathroom, two loos and a shower room at the end of a corridor.
Because it is a historic house, it has some indiosyncracies. There are two kitchen areas, one for food storage with cupboards, shelves and a fridge, and one for food prep, cooking and washing up. There is one fridge, but a second one can be moved in for large groups.
Large groups can overflow into nearby Kingfisher cottage, which has two bedrooms that share a bathroom. Kingfisher does not have a kitchen or a sitting room. The price for Kingfisher pppn is exactly the same as for Windsong.
